For most people, Saturdays are a day for family and fun, a breath of fresh air after a long week. For me, Saturdays are the days I work the hardest at my job. Being a wedding photographer, many times I miss out on gallery openings and other art and community events. This past Saturday May 18th, I made sure to fit both into one day. When I heard about the "Do Us Part" show celebrating the sketch book release of Johnny Quintana, and saw the list of other artists that would have pieces hung on the walls, I knew I had to get there. From a wedding reception at the Wyndham Orange County in Costa Mesa straight to Pomona's Smoking Mirrors Gallery, no matter what I'm photographing I love to capture people. Needless to say, the artwork and the gallery was awesome, and I had the pleasure of meeting quite a few artists and hearing their stories. Thanks to all the artists and supporters that came out, and congrats to Johnny Quintana on his sketch book release party!

I was a bit late to the show and did miss some of the artists, live music and the car show.
